Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available to students who feel they already have gained competency in the units of accredited programs or qualfication and could provide you with a full or partial qualification.
RPL is an assessment process where it is possible for a person to be given credit for formal or informal training previously undertaken or experience gathered through work and life experiences, where it relates to the course they are enrolling in.
The benefits of RPL:
- avoids duplication of training, maximising the value of vocational education and training expenditure
-
provides pathways to higher qualifications for people who may not have had previous access to training.
- creates a learning culture by valuing and recognising learning that has occurred in the workplace.
- builds self-esteem by valuing and recognising the skills of individuals.
